Junior Accountant

We are seeking to recruit a junior accounts person to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Accounting/Business studies -  Accounting Technician.  

The successful candidate will assist the Accounts team in the maintenance of accurate financial records in accordance with the Solicitors Accounts Regulations. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the day-to-day management of Office and Client accounts in line with Law Society Regulations
  • Process Supplier invoices, post journals and maintain creditors ledger.
  • Lodgements/issuing cheques from both the client account and office account.
  • Creditor and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure all creditors are paid in due course.
  • Administration and reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Filling and any other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Support the accounts team with Data entry and system updates.
  • Carry out general administrative duties as required by accounts team

Key Competencies

  • Excellent attention to detail is essential along with the ability to initiate, organise and prioritise work.
  • It is essential that this person be a team player with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast moving and deadline driven environment.
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office (especially Word and Excel).

Previous accounting work experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided to the right candidate who can demonstrate a willingness to learn, take ownership of the role and has a strong commitment to building a career in a legal finance office.
